The Rugby Cornet Band is a historical brass band based on the band of the same name that existed in Rugby in the 1880s. The original band consisted of 2 E-flat cornets, 3 B-flat cornets, 2 E-flat alto horns, 1 tenor horn, 1 baritone, 1 E-flat bass, and a bass drum. The newly formed band consists of 4 B-flat cornets, 2 E-flat alto horns, euphonium, trombone, 2 tubas, and snare and bass drums.

Brass bands have a long history in the United States. In the 1880s, there were approximately 20,000 brass bands across America. The Rugby Cornet Band was revitalized in March of 2023. We are thankful to the town of Rugby for it's support in making this possible.
